COX RENOVATION, UPGRADE PROJECT WILL ENABLE
SMART HOMES, SMART BUSINESSES AND SMART COMMUNITIES
Cox Communications is embarking on an exciting new building renovation and network upgrade project that will enable us to bring the latest products and services to our customers throughout Santa Barbara, including next generation gigabit internet speeds, which are the fastest speeds around.
This project will take place in the coming months at our Cox Communications campus in Goleta on Fairview Avenue and surrounding streets.
As with any construction project, there may be some traffic delays or limited parking near the construction site as crews work hard to build a network of the future for Santa Barbara. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. We hope you are as excited as we are about these renovations and upgrades, which will help create smart homes, smart businesses and smart communities throughout Santa Barbara County.
Below are some frequently asked questions about the project. Should you need additional assistance, please call (888) 999-6597.
Why is Cox doing construction at the Fairview Campus?
Now, more than ever, Cox’s residential customers are using the internet for entertainment, commerce, communication and education in their homes, and they are asking for increased speeds and greater bandwidth. We continue to listen to our customers and need an additional building house the equipment to launch next-generation internet gigabit to homes throughout Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Carpinteria. Our current buildings have reached capacity and we need an updated campus to continue providing the best network to power the homes, businesses, and cities of the future.
What are the benefits of homes having gigabit internet speeds with Cox’s Gigablast service?
Gigablast will enhance the customer experience by:
Offering speeds as fast as 1 Gig per second - will deliver more speed, a powerful home network and rich broadband enabled services to customers.
Providing one terabyte of cloud storage, Cox Security Suite and Family Protection and 10 email boxes each with 15 gigabytes of storage.
Allowing customers to power all of their devices to keep everyone streaming, posting, gaming, sharing and synching.
How is Cox notifying residents of construction activity?
Cox Communications is providing advanced notification to surrounding neighbors and businesses through a variety of communications methods, such as door hangers, to ensure our customers and the community are aware of the construction and how it may impact them.
On November 12, Cox Communications hosted an informational meeting at our Fairview Avenue campus.

How will residents/ businesses surrounding the Cox Campus be impacted by the construction?
To conduct this work, we will need to bring equipment to and from the campus, which may result in additional traffic along S. Fairview Ave.
A project of this nature will include demolition, construction of a new building, digging and changing out electronics. Our crews will make every effort to minimize the disruption and will ensure all landscaping will be restored to its original condition.
